Welcome to Lynford Gardens Forest Holiday Cottages, where you can escape everyday life and surround yourself with the beauty of Thetford Forest. Our six luxurious cottages all located at Lynford Gardens, provide direct access to the forest, making it the perfect destination for walkers, bird watchers, cyclists and those wishing to escape everyday life.
Most of our cottages are named after birds as the area is noted for its variety of birdlife and many rare birds can often be spotted. Have a look at our bird watching page for photographs of birds that have been photographed in the area. Each cottage is individually designed to provide you with the comfort and luxury you deserve during your holiday. You can easily explore Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge, including Sandringham and the North Norfolk coast. We are only 8 miles from High Lodge which has lots of walking and cycle trails, treetop adventures and segways as well as summer live music events. We are close to RAF Mildenhall and RAF Lakenheath, (RAF Lakenheath only 10 miles away and RAF Mildenhall 16 miles away) and we welcome aviation enthusiasts, forces personnel and contractors for stays of any duration.
On site there is the delightful Shepherds Baa Cafe which is open every day from 9 to 5pm in the summer or until 4pm in the winter. Only a few minutes walk from the cottages is Lynford Arboretum, Lynford Lake, with its own man-made beach, and the River Wissey. They are quite literally on the doorstep and have endless walking and cycling routes (see our page for ideas).
